The Office of Black Student Development (OBSD) is dedicated to supporting the holistic needs of UCSB’s Black undergraduate and graduate student population. Our work is grounded in four core principles: Advocacy, Academic Achievement, Recruitment and Retention, and Holistic Support. Through strong community partnerships and collaborations, OBSD provides resources, programming, and support to help Black students thrive at UCSB and beyond. While our mission is centered on the Black student experience, OBSD is a welcoming space open to all students who seek to engage, learn, and contribute to our community.
